BSF Highlights

As The Villages Charter School marches toward the successful completion of our 23rd year and The Villages High School (VHS) celebrates its 18th graduating class in May, 2023, we thought a review of the accomplishments of the Buffalo Scholarship Foundation (BSF) was in order.

  • 2,472 students have graduated from VHS (2005-2022)
  • 1,930 VHS graduates attended a post-secondary institution or the military (78.07%)
  • Most VHS graduates who attended college (80.41%) attend post-secondary in Florida
  • Total # of degrees (1,421)
  • Total BSF funds awarded = $2,278,140
  • Total # 841 of VHS graduates given a BSF scholarship
  • Of the 469 VHS graduates receiving a BSF scholarship from 2006-2018:
    • 96.59% attended post-secondary (453 students)
    • 80.60% have earned at least 1 degree (378 students
    • 254 Associates of Arts (AA) degrees have been earned
    • 439 Bachelor of Science (BS) degrees have been earned
    • 113 Graduate degrees have been earned
  • VHS Graduates have attended post-secondary in 47 of the 50 states in the USA and 4 foreign countries
  • BSF administration & overhead costs for the past 2 years were at 1.4% of BSF revenue
  • All graduating members of the VHS Class of 2023 will receive a post-secondary scholarship from BSF
