BSF Highlights


As The Villages Charter School completes its 20th year and The Villages High School (VHS) celebrates its 15th graduating class in May, 2020. We thought a review of the accomplishments of the Buffalo Scholarship Foundation (BSF) was in order.

  • 1,809 students have graduated from VHS (2005-2019)
  • 1,564 VHS graduates attended a post-secondary institution or the military (86.5%)
  • Most VHS graduates (85%) attend post-secondary in Florida
  • Total # of degrees (501)
  • Total BSF funds awarded = $1,041,565
  • Total # 589 of VHS graduates given a BSF scholarship
  • Of the 264 VHS graduates receiving a BSF scholarship from 2006-2015:
    • 96.97% attended post-secondary
    • 36.74% earned Associates of Arts (AA) degree
    • 73.11% earned Bachelor’s degree
    • 12.12% earned a graduate degree
    • 79.92% of all 264 earned at least 1 degree
  • VHS Graduates have attended post-secondary in 45 of the 50 states in the USA and 4 foreign countries
  • BSF administration & overhead costs for the past 2 years were at 1.4% of BSF revenue
  • All graduating members of the VHS Class of 2023 will receive a post-secondary scholarship from BSF
